Thank you for creating a Speak account.

data we collect and how we use it
By downloading and/or using our services you give us your consent to collect, use and store the data described below for the purposes likewise described below:
When you download our mobile application or sign up via our manager, you are requested to make an account. When your do that, you provide us with your phone number, home country, and e-mail address. You may also provide us with your name. By registering you give us your consent to collect, use and store this information.
We kindly ask you to give us access to your address book on your mobile phone, so that you can access your contacts through the app. This is very nice since nobody can remember phone numbers any more. And by the way, we only store your recent calls and your favorites, not your entire address book.
We also ask permission to make calls and use the microphone on your mobile phone. Don’t worry. We don’t listen in or record anything. But it is very difficult to make a calling app without these permissions, so by using our services, you agree to this.
We may interact with your phone’s SMS inbox for the purposes of service activation, placing incoming international messages and reading the contents of the activation SMS sent to you by us.
We also ask for permissions to get your location. This is done, so that we can route your calls correctly. We need to know what country you’re calling from, so that we can set up the call correctly.
If you live in the European Union we use the information about your home country to providing the correct VAT invoices. We are required to do so by law.
We use one of the worlds best and most trusted payment gateways, stripe.com. They handle all our payments, so we don’t get access to your credit card information. We only store card holder name. Expiry date, card type, and the last four digits of your card number is provided in a secure file, that we don’t store, but only use to make a cool graphic presentation of your card in the app.
We may use the e-mail, that you have provided us with, or your phone number, to communicate with you for the purpose of informing you about technical issues, administrative issues, updates or new services offered by us. Basically, we’d love to get in touch with you, but we won’t spam you.
We may send you messages about updates, faults, alerts and other types of issues relating to technical aspects and/or the usability of the mobile application and other parts of our services. We may occasionally ask you for information on your experiences of using our mobile application or other parts of our services which will be used to improve the quality and provision of our services. We may also occationally contact you by phone, SMS or through any other appropriate information channel to keep you up to date with news about Speak and our services, including new products, campaigns, promotions and payment methods.
We keep a call log, including but not limited to, the phone numbers and/or other identification details of the calling and receiving party, the start time, call duration, call quality, outages (“Call Details”) and maintains a call detail record (“CDR”) for each call that is routed through the system.
Our call log is collected and maintained for billing purposes and for the purposes of improving our services (read bug-fixing) and to fulfill our obligations under applicable laws, but also for internal operations, including troubleshooting problems, data analysis, testing, research, improvements to our services, detecting and protecting against error, fraud or other illegal activity when we believe it is appropriate to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal or suspected illegal activities.
